Junior Interior Designer & Procurement Assistant
We are currently in search for an experienced and dynamic Junior Interior Designer & Procurement Assistant to join our London Office
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of drawings, presentations, and material specifications.
- Assist with InDesign presentation and photoshop visualisations.
- Assisting in the creation of quotations and sales orders.
- Assisting with AutoCAD Drawings, furniture plans and elevations.
- Attend and assist installations on an ad hoc basis to provide assistance.
- Attend all supplier meetings.
- Design and develop elements on projects under the guidance of a Project Leader.
- Develop knowledge of Studio Howes systems and processes.
- Ensure all invoices are entered accurately and on time and that all credit terms are adhered to and VAT invoices are regularly inputted onto the system.
- Obtain pricing and details on products as directed and order samples.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Proactively provide design support and sound administrative assistance to the design team across projects as required.
- Provide admin support to the team, typing minutes, liaising with suppliers, and inputting data.
- Assist with the ordering for all projects, including furniture, fabrics, bespoke items and furnishings. Make sure order confirmation/invoices match the purchase orders and flag/resolve any queries with the supplier.
- Resolve all queries raised by suppliers whilst liaising with the purchasing and/or design team.
- Setting up and maintaining excellent presentation of the studio display fabrics and samples library.
- To assist with social media creation.
- Update projects on a line-by-line basis ensuring all notes are current and the project is running on time. Report any potential issues affecting installation dates to the procurement and designs team.
- Work closely with Studio Howes trusted suppliers and nominated storage units to ensure all goods are delivered within the required time frames.
- Work to agreed timescales.
Knowledge & Skills
- 1-2 years of professional design experience.
- Design Degree or Design Diploma from a recognised Interior Design School/Higher Education.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Some knowledge of FF&E suppliers.
- Relevant experience in working on elements of design projects with guidance and direction.
- Working knowledge of 2D computer drawing skills (AutoCAD or Vectorworks) and 3D drawing aids (SketchUp).
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and working experience on Macs with Adobe Creative Suite.
